Biocide

Analysis and supply of biocide for oil. Proposal of investigation in order to detect the presence of microorganisms in jet fuel and gasoil tanks. Either in refineries or/and gas stations with relative estimation of biocidal supply. Introduction The persistent stocking of fuel at rest can be one of the cause of bacteria proliferation (fungi and mould). As much as, low quality oil and the use of fuel as GECAM or biodiesel. Other causes are, possible water in gasoil and its contamination during transfer to refineries and distribution stations. Consequently, there could be the formation and accumulation of acid-corrosive substances mud inside tanks and containers. Furthermore, those dirty deposits will enter the alimentation system triggering the blockage of fuel filters. Also, the oil will flow irregularly towards the injectors and the combustion chamber, therefore, causing the engine (or the boiler) malfunction. 1. Reasons for the investigation The job purpose is to investigate in order to detect the presence of microorganisms inside containers. The objects of this investigation are jet fuel and biodiesel storage containers, also, the tanks of oil containing bio additives (FAME) and non-FAME oil that can be altered with bio additives occasionally. 2. Analytical investigation The analytical investigation aims to verify and quantify the presence of microorganisms (bacteria, mud, fungi, etc.) inside the tanks mentioned above. At this stage there will be the writing of a detailed report that will include the methodical results, suggestions on treatment and the description of which biocide type and dosage will better suit each case. 3. Goals and conclusions The final purpose of the analytical investigation activity, and its consequent report, is... read more
